If you are into highball slabbin this problem is for you. Bawl Higher is an inviting little problem . At first glance there appears to be holds all the way up and doesn't look that hard until you step off the block and onto the face where you encounter a typical Nova Scotia slab. It would not be so intimidating if it just stayed straight up but this little gem weaves back and forth over the starting block making each move more committing. A fall from this one will definitely leave you crying.
Bawl Higher***, 20ft, V5, BL – Located on the backside of this boulder. Start on the block four feet right of the arête. Climb up using small holds to a difficult sequence at the top (there is a jug up there)! Have good spotters and a big set of kahunas!

looks like a fun slab problem but it looks pretty easy for V5... it has holds bigger then dime edges. I've seen harder V2 slab problems at the base of the grand in squamish: go try slabacus V3 or Cheese grater V1 just to name a few. nice film work.
I'm about to make an embarrassing confession here... personally I love slabs, but if you are a climber that likes to push the grades they just don't seem to have that much appeal.
I think slabs are the hardest climbs to grade. This one sees very few repeats and there certainly isn't a lineup of climbers looking to test themselves on the latest slab test pieces in Nova Scotia.
Anyone done "Bawl Higher"? What do you think the grade is?

I have not climbed Bawl Higher, but I recently had a look at it and from the ground (for what that is worth) the grade did not seem misleading. Something to consider here is the fact that Zig makes everything look easy. So I wouldn't jump to downgrade it based on the video. I know fear factor is not supposed to affect grades, but if you want to tick Bawl Higher, bring pads, spotters and big testicles. Hey Todd am I allowed to say testicles here? If not then bring big 'beautiful flowers'. haha. Anyway that shit looked hard and scary.
